Christine Slater

Christine Slater, 91 formerly of Cedar Springs, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City. Christine was born August 9, 1921 in Paris, IL the daughter of Ralph and Elizabeth (Moore) Brooks. She had enjoyed gardening and flowers and loved the Lord very much and studying her Bible. Her family was very important to her. Surviving are children, Greg Slater, Cindy Robinson, Blake (Mary) Slater, Bronwyn (Tom) Winowiski, Cameron Slater; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; sisters, Avis Wilson, and Fay Young; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; children, Jeffrey Slater, Bobbi Jo Nichols and Bennette Slater; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Slater; sisters and brothers, Eulalia, Dixie, Clifford, Clarence, Raymond and Herbert. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at her nephew’s home, Larry Young in Cedar Springs. Private family interment in Yuma Cemetery.
