Cherokee C. Cotten, 15 of Cedar Springs went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 11, 2006. Cherokee was born September 7, 1991 in Newport News, Virginia the daughter of Thomas Christopher and Barbara (Reed) Cotten. She was a sophomore at Cedar Springs High School, a member of the Comstock Park Congregational Church, and attended the Youth Group at Kent Theater in Cedar Springs. Cherokee was a very spiritual person who was very forgiving and had a heart of gold. Her hobbies included: art, drama, watercolor painting, roller skating, puzzles, music (eclectic), dancing, reading and spending time with her friends and family. Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Barbara & Thomas Sitler; her father, Christopher Cotten, 3 sisters, Hannah, Savannah, and Elizabeth; grandparents, Tom & Judy Sitler, Teresa & Jody Reed, Jean & Neil Cotten; several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. Pastor Dick Woodward officiating. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
