Charles J. “Jack” Wall, 95 of Stanton and Greenville, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at his son’s home in Stanton. Mr. Wall was born May 23, 1913 in Ensley Township, MI the son of Nathan and Rachel (Simmons) Wall. He had owned and operated the Red Flannel Café in Cedar Springs, Coffee Break in Greenville and the Clifford Lake Hotel in Stanton. He was a lifetime Mason, Rotarian and past president, and deacon in his church in Florida. Surviving are five children, Carl (Nancy) Wall of Lincoln Lake, Charlene (Dennis) Hansen-Prebee of Elk Rapids, Jack (Mary Kay) Wall of Greenville, Jerry (Rhonda) Wall of Stanton, Tom (Pat) Wall of Stanton; Lillian’s children, Lois (Jack) Cairl, George Brown; grandchildren, Carl Wall, Jr., Denise (Jim) Anderson, Debbie (Mike) Dehm, Renae Hansen, Rachele (Jeff) Cummings, Eric Hansen, Ken (Kim) Wall, Kristine (Alex) Martin, Veronica (Jamie) Pitchford, Jeri Lynn (John) Fare, Charley (Tammy) Wall, Tanya (Ken) Dillingham, Tara Wall; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Betty Kilts (Vance) of Newaygo; brother, Earl (Jimmy) Wall of Augusta, GA; several loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife, Arlene (Shaw) of 54 years; wife, Lillian (Brown) of 17 years; grandson, Eddie Hansen; sisters, Dorothy Shaw, Lillian “Toots” Rider; brothers, Kenneth Wall and Lyle Wall. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-5 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Monday at 12 Noon. Pastor Stephen Charnley from First United Methodist Church, Greenville officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs.
