Charles J. Scheidel

Charles J. Scheidel age 83 of Cedar Springs, died Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at his home. Mr. Scheidel was born June 8, 1938 in Alpine Township, MI the son of Charles A. and Anne (Abraham) Scheidel. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-57 and retired from McInerney Spring & Wire in 1991 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 123 and a life member of the AmVets. Surviving are his wife, Donna (Finkler); children, Annette (Alan) Mongar, Shelly (Paul) Bowerman, Mike Scheidel, Charles A. Scheidel; grandchildren, Branden Mongar, Abbey Dunmire, Paul Bowerman, Michael (Katie) Scheidel, Kaylynn (Alex) McKinley, Charles R. Scheidel, Madison Scheidel, Jesse Trader, Sheryl Spedoske; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Scheidel, Daniel (Norma) Scheidel; sisters, Ellen Witte, Mary Esther (Larry) Karntz; in-laws, Jerry Finkler, Ron (Rose) Finkler, Marilyn (Bob) Bacon, Karen (Jim) Heidenga, Arlene Hubert, Jane (Doug) Vogel; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Molly Bekins and Jeanne Weeda; brother, Tim Scheidel. The family will greet friends Monday from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 12:00 pm at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, Cedar Springs with viewing at 11:00 am. Rev. Fr. Lam Le celebrant. Interment Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Alpine Township. Memorials may be made to St. John Paul II or St. Ann’s in Baldwin.
