Charles F. Hancock, 92 of Cedar Springs, died Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus. Mr. Hancock was born October 8, 1918 in Palo, MI the son of Amasa and Maude (Davis) Hancock. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a mechanic and had worked for H. J. Martin in Carson City, was part owner of H&H Distributing in Greenville and Stanton, and retired from Wolverine World Wide. He was a farmer all of his life. Surviving are his children, Janice Sisson of Fenwick, Joyce (Raymond) Taylor of Fowler, Michael (Gwen) Hancock of Grand Rapids, Michelle (David) Patin of Carson City, Martin (Tammy) Hancock of Howard City; 19 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, James (Rozella) Hancock; sisters, Lilah Cardinal, Geneiva Bloomquist, Frieda Gallagher-Pickett; he was preceded in death by his wife, Nada “Eileen”; brother, Clifford Hancock; sister, Maggie Strecker; son-in-law, James Sisson. The family will receive family and friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Thursday 11:00 am. Pastor Mary Ivanov officiating. Interment Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
