Cecil L. “Pete” Fisk, 83 of Sand Lake was called home by God on Friday, February 2, 2007 at his residence. Cecil was born December 30, 1923 in Algoma Township, MI the son of Lyle and Lillian (Helsel) Fisk. He proudly served as a PFC in the U.S. Army 69th Infantry from 1944-1946 during World War II. Cecil married Wannetta J. Gordon on June 26, 1943. Surviving along with his wife are 5 children, Randy (Char) of Gowen, Tom (Kathy) of Gowen, Sheryl (Roger) Fleser of Cedar Springs, Greg of Sand Lake, Steve (Renee) of Trufant; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 7 brothers and sisters, Mary (Kenneth) French of Cedar Springs, Lyle (Rhea), Ross (Kathy), Rose Bergman all of Sand Lake, Dora (Fred) Polega of Rockford, Ann (Ed) Borema, Doug (Diane) all of Trufant; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma. The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Tuesday 11:00 am. Pastor Jonathan Williams officiating. Interment Solon Township Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donors choice.
