Calvin George Fleck

January 4, 1925 — October 12, 2006

Calvin G. Fleck, 81 of Cedar Springs, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, October 12, 2006. Mr. Fleck was born January 4, 1925 in Six Lakes, MI the son of Harlan and Lois (Forgar) Fleck. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for John Deere as a mechanic for 25 years and retired from RJ Tower Automotive in 1991. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cedar Springs where had served as a Deacon, Usher and Greeter. Surviving are his wife, Arleita (Griffis) whom he married on June 1, 1946; 4 daughters, Wilma (Virgil) Reed, Pat Fisk, Barbara (Scott) Totten, Dawn (Ray) Andrus; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Verla Beath, Neola (Charles) Adams; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Dorrence; 1 son-in-law, Jack Armstrong. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Services will be held Sunday 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church. Pastor Jim Howard officiating. Private interment East Nelson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Parking Lot Fund.
