Burdette “Bud” Gambee age 87 of Cedar Springs, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Corewell Health Butterworth Campus. He was born January 19, 1938 in Crystal, MI, the son of Burdette and Margie (Bogart) Gambee. Bud worked for Wolverine World Wide at the Rockford Tannery where he served as the Wet End Superintendent for that facility. He saw the tannery go into the computerized age becoming the most sophisticated tanning system in the world. His hobbies included deer hunting, golfing and enjoying a 1955 Chevy that he and his wife, Helen restored. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Helen; daughters, Catherine (Walter) Detz, Christina (Terry) Daisy, Constance (Troy) Koepke; grandchildren, Cameron Daisy, Cassie Daisy and Joseph Koepke. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette; sisters, Helen Brown, June Smith and Jean Miles. The family will greet friends Wednesday, February 5 from 5 – 7 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Thursday 11:00 am. Pastor Michelle Vallier officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or the United Methodist Church, Cedar Springs.
