Beverly J. Detwiler

Beverly J. Detwiler stepped into her eternal home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 25, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Barbara Detwiler.

Bev was born August 24, 1941, and grew up in Chesaning, MI. She graduated from high school and gave a lending hand in her parent’s grocery store. Bev then attended Central Michigan University where she earned her teaching degree and began her career of teaching middle school at Leslie, MI. While teaching, she attended Michigan State University and completed her master’s degree. In 1967, she moved to Sparta, teaching middle school and sharing her love for American history.

Bev loved to travel, visiting Europe several times, and once in the winter to Communist Russia. She also traveled extensively while camping in the states.

Bev was a charter member of Rockford Springs Community Church where she served in various capacities through Women’s Ministry.

She is survived by several cousins, their families, and two dear friends, Joan and Jann. A special thanks to Meadowlark’s care partners and Interim Health Hospice. At her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Arrangements by K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
