Betty Jean Claypool, aged 65, of Cedar Springs, passed away in the presence of her family Thursday, November 17, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 6, 1940 to Charles and Emily (Peg) Babylon who preceded her in death and also a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and John Cronin. Betty Jean was a Past worthy matron of O.E.S. Rockford chapter # 215. She retired from Wolverine World Wide after 34 years and enjoyed being with her family. Surviving are her daughters, Billie Jean (Bob) Sanders of Greenville and Wendy Claypool of Cedar Springs; four grandchildren, Emily, Casey, Matt and Marc; four great grandchildren; a sister, Sandy Bouwman of Wayland; a brother, James (Linda) Babylon of Cedar Springs, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Betty Jean Kilts. She was a loving person with a heart of gold who will be missed dearly by all. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brian Rafferty of Cedar Springs United Methodist church officiating. Interment will take place at Elmwood cemetery. Memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice have been suggested.
