Bert E. Porter

Bert E. Porter, 87 of Cedar Springs, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at Spectrum Health – Blodgett Campus. Bert was born March 23, 1929 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Edward and Mildred (Smith) Porter. He loved his cats, Buttercup and Fluffy. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed Westerns and drinking coffee. Surviving are his sister, Josephine (Daryl) Magoon; brothers, Clarence Porter and Donald Porter; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mabel; four brothers and five sisters. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 1:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Pastor Chuck Smith officiating. Interment Solon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
