Bernard K. “Bernie” Marvin Sr. age 72 of Cedar Springs, died Saturday, July 16, 2022 comfortably at his home after a long brave battle with acute myeloid leukemia. He was born October 28, 1949 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Lewis and Esther (VanderLaan) Marvin. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany and Korea during the Vietnam War Era. Bernie enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest passion was cars, fast muscle cars and he owned many throughout his life. Surviving are his family whom he loved very much, wife, Brenda Johnson Marvin; children, Bernard (Lori) Marvin Jr., Jennifer (Anthony) Allanson, Keith (Caitlin) Marvin; 10 special grandchildren, Tyler, Lindsey, Troy, Mazie, Eric, Chris, Carlie, Kyle, Samantha, Avalyn; great grandchildren, Taryn and Caden; brothers, Ronald (Judy) Marvin, John Marvin. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elmeda Pate; sister-in-law, Shirley Marvin. The family will greet friends Wednesday, July 20 from 5-7 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Thursday, July 21 at 11:00 am. Pastor David Ward officiating. Interment North Ensley Cemetery, Howard City. Military honors by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
