Benjamin B. Brooks

Benjamin Bo Brooks age 31 of Greenville, died Friday, July 1, 2022 at his home. Ben was born July 4, 1990 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Phillip and Shelly (Carlson) Brooks. He graduated from Cedar Springs High School Class of 2008 and went on to play golf at Grand Valley State University and graduated with a bachelors degree. He was an engineer with IMG Automotive in Livonia. Ben enjoyed being outdoors, playing golf and entertaining others and his family. He was a patient, kind soul and voice of reason. He would do anything for anyone. He loved his family and was a loving father and husband. Surviving are his wife, Samantha (Gilbert); sons, John and Jack; mother, Shelly Brooks; sisters, Heather (Darrrell) Huntoon, Ashley (Aaron) Whalen; brother, David (Rachel) Ducat; grandmother, Nancy Carlson; nieces and nephews, Meg Huntoon, Leah Whalen, Mariano Ducat, Isabelle and Lily Whalen; parents-in-law, Jack & Sally Gilbert; brothers-in-law, Jake Gilbert, Bradley (Kali) Gilbert. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Brooks; grandparents, Eugene & Nina Brooks, David Carlson. The family will greet friends Thursday from 5-8pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Friday at 3:00 pm. Pastor Michelle Vallier officiating. Interment next to his father at Reynolds Township Cemetery, Howard City. Memorial contributions may be made to an educational fund for his sons.
