Barbara “Grandma B” Louise Mosher (Smith) age 75 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Mission Point, Cedar Springs. She was born March 15, 1949 at Blodgett Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI and was raised by her grandparents, Joseph and Louise Zamaites. She was a 1967 graduate of South High School and a proud resident of Cedar Springs. She raised her two boys with her first husband Jack. She later married Jim with whom she helped raise her two stepdaughters. Barb was preceded in death by her mother, Charmain (Otis) Kimbrell; father, Su Smith; siblings, Carol (Craig) Marsh, Joe (Rose) Eager, David (Eleanor) Smith; son, Timothy Smith. Surviving are her husband of 25 years, James Mosher; son, Jim Smith; stepchildren, James (Julia) Mosher, Randy Mosher, Heather (Kyle) Cooper, Patty (Steve) Marvin; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She worked at Packaging Corporation of America for 30 years. She took great pride in the position she held in quality control, ensuring that the product passed quality standards. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting and doing puzzles. Eventually, her love of crafting grew into a modest business, ABC Crafts, where she sold handmade scrubbies and towels. Barb loved her dogs, especially Precious.
Family was everything to Barb, she made sure that no one was left out, everyone was welcome at her home and had a place at the table. If you entered her home, you entered her heart. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family and was generous to a fault. Spending time with family was something she cherished more than anything. Some memorable events she looked forward to included weekly bonfires at her brother-in-law’s home, canasta nights (a family favorite), camping and pontoon rides at Brower Park, Red Flannel Days with chili ready to go while donning her unmistakable Red Flannels and Christmas Eve at her house where she reveled in the joyous time spent with her many grandchildren. Her smile was the brightest when taking pictures with her grandchildren. Barb was a long-time member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church and looked forward to attending every chance she got. She was baptized in Pine Lake with her husband in 2012.
The family will greet friends Thursday, December 12 from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at Cedar Springs Baptist Church, 233 S. Main St. Cedar Springs. Pastor Mike Wittmer officiating.
