Barbara Jane Tompkins

Barbara Jane (Knol) Tompkins age 95 of Cedar Springs, died Thursday, April 22, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Tompkins was born December 31, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Ronald Plumb and Agnes Knol. She was a Christian and prayer warrior. She married Richard H. Tompkins in 1944 and they eventually moved to Rockford and then to Cedar Springs in 1965. He preceded her in death in 1983. Surviving are her children, Cheryl (Alfred) Dines, Jim (Patti) Tompkins, Ray (Yukiko) Tompkins, Nancy Pennington, John (Denise) Tompkins, Sue (Tim) Price; daughter-in-law, Shirley Tompkins; 22 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Kuikstra, Pat Dow and Vickie Droleme; brother, Mike Plumb; cousin, Pam Linderman; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded by her parents and a son, Richard D. Tompkins and a son-in-law, Rocke Pennington. The family will greet friends Monday, April 26 from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at City Church, 3233 10 Mile Road, Rockford. Pastor Ken Menefee officiating.
