Arthur A. Gillette

Arthur Gillette, age 94 of Cedar Springs, MI passed away Tuesday January 19, 2021 at The Brook, Cedar Springs, MI. Art was born February 23, 1926 in Parsons, KS. He graduated from Parsons High School. He was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran. Upon discharge he went to Spartan School of Aeronautics, Tulsa, OK. He was employed as an Aerospace Engineer for many years. Art then went on to own several businesses: Gillette Foods on Hess Lake in Michigan, The Woodstove Shoppe, Newaygo, MI and Gillette’s Trading Post in Grant, MI. He was also very active with the Wolverine Skyhawks RC plane club in Cedar Springs. Art was preceded in death by Loretta, his wife of 65 years. Surviving are his children Allen (Brenda) Gillette, Laura (Bill) Douthett, Michael (Rita) Gillette; grandchildren Brent Gillette, Scott (Sherri) Gillette, Lindsey Douthett and Philip (Kara) Douthett; great grandchildren; Ashlee, Ian and Ivy Gillette, Zander and Adelyn Douthett. Art will greatly be missed. A celebration of life will be held summer 2021 in Cedar Springs, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Springs Public Library, 43 W.
