Arthur W. Anderson

Arthur W. Anderson, aged 84, of Cedar Springs, formerly of Glenn, MI passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Metron of Cedar Springs. Art was a family man and family was what he enjoyed most in life. He was a quiet, unassuming individual who got along with most everyone. He was an accomplished bowler. He enjoyed fishing, cards and his garden that was shared with everyone. Art retired from Chris-Craft in Holland, MI and was a member of the Glenn United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma J. (Bailey) Anderson, a stepson Robert Shields both in May of 2007 and several brothers and sisters: Archie, Dorothy Smith, Milford, Francis Collins and Jerry. Surviving are his sons James (Lois) Anderson of Cement City, MI and Dennis Anderson of Schaumberg, IL, his stepchildren Donald Shields of Holland and Anna J. (Thomas) Witters of Cedar Springs, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, a stepdaughter-in-law Gail Shields of Goshen, IN, a brother John, a sister Betty Kaminski, and a special uncle Franklin Anderson, nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday 11:00 am at Glenn United Methodist Church with Pastor Jean Smith officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am.
