Arlene Rose Schindler

Arlene Rose Schindler, age 87, of Cedar Springs, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at The Brook of Cedar Springs. She was born on November 14, 1936, in Highland Twp, MI, the daughter of Sherwood and Olive (Hoggard) Steele. Arlene was a graduate of the Pontiac Business School and had been an executive secretary at Chrysler Corporation. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed gardening, crafting, and watching birds. Her family was very important to her, and she loved baking, crafting, and traveling with them.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Kim) Hiler and Janice (Steve) Humphreys; grandchildren, Jordan (Elizabeth) Hickel, Stephanie (Roxanne) Kyriakakis, and Ross Humphreys; great-grandchildren, Luca Sherwood and Georgie Rose; and nieces and nephews including Jeff, Brian, Steve, and Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1986, and her brother, Ray Steele, in 2020.

A family graveside memorial will be held at Highland Cemetery in Highland, MI, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
