Arlene E. Boerema (Eckert)

Arlene E. Boerema (Eckert), 83, of Sand Lake went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital, Greenville. Mrs. Boerema was born September 26, 1928, in Grandville, MI, the daughter of Arthur and Audrey (Palmer) Heydenburg. She was a longtime and active member of Pierson Bible Church and enjoyed bowling. Surviving are her husband, Roy Eckert of Sand Lake; sons, Robert (Linda) Boerema of Pierson, Arlin (Peg) Boerema of Sand Lake, James (Sarah) Boerema of Fremont, Daniel (Kamilla) Boerema of Ooltewah, TN; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Doug (Nancy) Heydenburg; sister, Yvonne (Roger) Wynsma; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Boerema in 1995; brothers, Donald, Keith and Jack Heydenburg; sisters, Joyce Whittington and Karen Nyenhuis. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The service will be Saturday 11:00 am at Pierson Bible Church.
