Anton "Tony" Husar

July 29, 1925 — January 11, 2009

Anton L. “Tony” Husar, 83 of Pierson, died peacefully, comforted by his loving daughter Ellen on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Metron of Cedar Springs. Tony was born July 29, 1925 in Tallmadge Township, MI the son of Joseph and Myrtle (Green) Husar. He is survived by his daughter, Ellen, and son-in-law, Nicholas Nyblad of Kent City; three grandsons, Bill, Gabe and Gunnar Nyblad. Also surviving are a special friend and loving companion, Yvonne Hendrick and her family; two sisters, Betty Orlic and Ruth Hoffman; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Riker; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Belva Jean (Cunningham); a son, Tim Husar; three brothers, Art Riker, Robert Husar, Arnie Husar; one sister, Irene Hula. Tony was a life long employee of K&R Excavating and was a helpful neighbor and friend to all. His true passion was his family, especially his three grandsons. He was a supportive, fun loving influence in their lives. He will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Saturday 11:00 am. Pastor Leonard Dahlgren from Mamrelund Lutheran Church officiating. Interment Blythefield Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mamrelund Food Pantry.
