Alfred C. Szarowicz

View Photo Tribute Alfred C. Szarowicz, 77 of Cedar Springs, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at his home. Mr. Szarowicz was born November 4, 1928 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Paul and Josephine (Miller) Szarowicz. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Mary Queen of Apostles Church, Sand Lake, 4th degree Knights of Columbus Council 2226, 3rd degree Our Lady of Guadalupe Council 8425, American Legion Post 47 and was an avid golfer. Surviving are 2 children, Rosemary Szarowicz, Thomas & Suzette Szarowicz all of Grand Rapids; 4 grandchildren, Sierra, Skyler, Savannah, and Sajal; 2 brothers, Alex & Shirley Szarowicz of Florida, Donald & Ginny Szarowicz of Grand Rapids; 1 sister, Elizabeth Bartosiewicz of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan in 2005; 4 sisters, Sophie, Gertrude, Rosemary and Esther; 4 brothers, Henry, Edward, John and Joseph. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be Friday 11:00 am at Mary Queen of Apostles Church, Sand Lake. Rev. Fr. Joseph W. Kenshol celebrant. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
