Alan "Al" Cook

Alan “Al” Scott Cook of Howard City, MI left us Thursday, September 5, 2024 on his 77th birthday. He passed peacefully at home following congestive heart failure and a stroke. Born September 5, 1947, Al attended Wyoming Park High School and graduated from Western Michigan University. He proudly served in the U.S Air Force in the Philippines during the Vietnam War.

Al enjoyed fishing, golfing, flower gardening, spoiling his beloved cats and fresh chocolate chip cookies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lucille Cook and his son-in-law, Curt Parkhurst.

Al is lovingly remembered by his wife, Ruth Cook; children, Kim Cook, Tonia Parkhurst, Kristi Cook, Christopher VanAst; grandchildren, Alex, Aiden, Lauren and Sam Kennedy, Crystal Abernathy (Josh), C.J., Courtney, and Collin Parkhurst (Jessica); great grandchildren, Jada, Ryan, Maddox and Coraline.

Per Al’s wishes, there will be no funeral. Rather than flowers or plants please make a memorial donation to the cat rescue of your choice, hospice or C-Snip with notification email to toniaparkhurst@gmail.com. Arrangements by K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
