Aileen “Ike” Yeakey, 84 of Rockford, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at Spectrum Health – United Memorial Campus, Greenville. Ike was born May 17, 1928 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Bert and Rhoba (Austin) Yeakey, Sr. She was very proud to be one of the original employees at Pridgeon & Clay and worked until her retirement in 1993. She enjoyed the music at Rockford Ambulance Community Building and was an avid Detroit Tiger fan. Surviving are her son and his wife, Bruce (Linda) Yeakey of Pierson; grandchildren, Julie Martin, Todd (Sheila) Yeakey; great grandchildren, Taylor, Brandon, Caleb, Hailey, Aubrie, Kiley; 1 great great granddaughter, Beautiful; sisters, Mable Scott, Cathy Yeaw; sisters-in-law, Carol Yeakey, Shirley Yeakey; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Donald, Orson, Bert, Robert; sisters, Rhoba, Gloria, and Marian. The family will greet friends Tuesday from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Pastor Chuck Smith officiating.
